It’s summer, it’s hot, and even though the forest is cool, it can be nice with a swim!
- The nearest swimming place is Baksjøen, which is a forest lake with a sandy beach. It is located three kilometers from the cottages and is accessible by both bicycle and car. The shortest road is straight down to Gjesåssjøen from the cabins, but the road here is bad and you drive down at your own risk. Drive down the gravel road past the church and Gjesåssjøen, and turn left at the top of the hill. Drive another kilometer and turn right onto Baksjøvegen.
- A little further away is Nergrenda. Here there are several kilometers of sandy beach along the Glomma and this is a gem of a riviera. The Glomma can be cold until well into the summer, so do a search on bathing temperatures before you make the trip here. Drive to Flisa and take off towards Åsnes church. Continue on the road past the church until the asphalt ends. Here is a sign with a swimming area on a gravel road down to the left.
- At Færder camping there is also a new and adapted swimming area with a long and beautiful sandy beach. This is located at the outlet where Flisaelva meets Glomma. Drive to Flisa and continue down towards the old train station. Then you have the station on the left and Flisabrua on the right. Drive straight ahead and past the grain silo. Follow the road until you arrive.
Have a nice swim!
